POSITION OVERVIEW

The Risk & Vendor Compliance Specialist requires a deep understanding of risk management, vendor compliance, and insurance cargo claims processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations, mitigating risks, and managing insurance cargo claims efficiently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular vendor audits to assess compliance with quality, safety, and security standards.
  • Develop and implement vendor compliance programs to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address any compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of insurance cargo claims, including claim filing, documentation, investigation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Liaise with insurance providers, customers, and internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation for claim processing.
  • Evaluate and analyze insurance policies to determine coverage and eligibility for claims.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements and regulations during the claims process.
  • Maintain accurate records of insurance claims, settlements, and related documentation.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas of vulnerability and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate risk management activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in risk management, vendor compliance, and insurance cargo claims in the freight forwarding industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, including INCOTERMS, customs regulations, and insurance policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with vendors, insurance providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Proficient in using risk management software and tools.
  • Professional certifications in risk management, vendor compliance, or insurance claims (e.g., RIMS-CRMP, CTPAT, CPCU) are preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully in accordance with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
