Framatome is seeking a Design Authority in our Advanced Reactors group. This Advanced Reactors group mission includes projects in the Gen III and Gen IV areas, as well as projects for the U.S. government (e.g., DOE, DoD, NASA).The Design Authority will be responsible for design integrity and technical risk management of the Framatome’s Advanced Reactor techno-bricks. This position will lead and/or contribute to multiple Advanced Reactor projects. The position will also support activities to increase Framatome market share in the Advanced Reactors arena. We are looking for ambitious individuals with strong technical knowledge, demonstrated leadership skills, unwavering commitment to safety, and penchant for “make it happen”.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain requisite knowledge of Advanced Reactor designs and Framatome techno-bricks to perform the function of the Technical Conscience of the organization
- Lead and/or contribute to Advanced Reactor development and deployment projects
- Lead and/or contribute to R&D activities to develop new products and services for Advanced Reactors
- Support DOE advanced reactor initiatives and upgrade of DOE/DoD facilities to support their advanced reactor initiatives
- Support Framatome technology risk management mission, by leading and/or participating in assigned technical risk management activities

Required Experience
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:
- BS in Eng'g/Eng'g Tech. plus a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs.). In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4 yr. engineering degree.
The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data to stakeholders at various technical and leadership levels
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Ability/willingness to learn about advanced reactor designs
- Self-Starter with ability and willingness to take charge and lead
- Experience in working on advanced reactor designs (LWRs and non-LWRs)
- Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria for Systems Engineering with a focus on mechanical process systems design (new designs and/or existing plant modifications)
- Broad interdisciplinary knowledge/experience of existing commercial LWRs
- Experience in working with the government (e.g., DOE, DoD)
- Experience with NRC staff/ACRS (e.g., presentations to regulatory authorities)
