Job Summary/Purpose: General maintenance, installation, technical support, inventory, and other tasks assigned by supervisor of approved hardware and software that are part of technologies within the building. With direction of Senior Information Technology Manager, will do general troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment of the Wide Area Network (WAN). Position may be assigned to a building or several buildings.
Minimum Qualifications: Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation; write reports and business correspondence; effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, teachers, and other employees; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization and supervision exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form. Must have a valid driver’s license to hold the position. Acceptable driving record required to remain in the position.
Education/Experience: Prefer Technical Certification from a 2-year accredited institution, or CompTIA, A , or Apple certification and experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or equivalent from 4-year college; or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills: Basic knowledge of computer and networking terminology, practice and application; Board of Education policies and regulations as related to technology in the District. Basic service of Windows/DOS based and Macintosh computers; install and support district and building approved software; work with all current operating systems being used within the district; moderate network troubleshooting skills.
