Overview
Exciting opportunity to Windows and VMWare System Engineer for Healthcare organization. This is a hands-on role, in which, you will be working with a team of system / network administrators and help desk support. In addition, you will be supporting multi-location environment with 1,000 end users and managing third party relationships.
You must have advanced knowledge in networking and telecom. In this role, you will be helping to improve and build processes, protocols, and documentation for the department. As the Windows and VMWare System Engineer, you will assit with an Office 365 migration, VMware VDI migration, and help identify security monitoring tools for the environment.
Windows and VMWare System Engineer
Responsibilities
- Must have VMWare View VDI/Horizon exp including imaging, building pools, load balancing
- Establishes and maintains the virtual desktop “Golden Image"
- Maintain VMware Horizon VIEW virtual desktops.
- Active Directory user creation, modification, and termination - Maintain Active Directory User and Computer objects, moving objects as roles change
- Coordinate and perform network switch port security tasks for end user move
- Install and update applications contained with a base operating system image
- Monthly installation of Windows updates, Java, Flash, etc.
- Create and update batch and strong knowledge in PowerShell Scripting for Windows using Group Policy Objects
- Troubleshoot application and performance problems; automate functions as needed.
- Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 Proven experience with Operations and Process control knowledge
- Hands-on experience on Microsoft exchange 2010, 2012, 2016 and Office 365 migration
- Good knowledge in Azure AD, Azure AD Connect and ADFS Good understanding about M365 services & O365 Security and Compliance
- Assists and trains department staff and employees in various technical areas. Coordinates use of training and loaner laptops
- Hands-on experience in ServiceNow ticketing system
- Configure and setup Dell Wyse Thin Client devices within Teradici MMC.
- Experience in disaster recovery processes
- Coordinates Purchase orders of I.T. related equipment
- Performs software installations and upgrades on standard and non-standard software. Installation and configuration of all end-user related hardware and software on PC’s, laptops, iPads and Chrome books. Verifies new software licensing is valid on one-off software installations. Performs Desktop engineering work to ensure that all software operates without error, all software is up to date, and all desktops are patched in a timely manner
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as Service Desk Technician
- Experience with VMWare View VDI/Horizon
- Active Directory Experience
- O365 Experience
- Microsoft Azure / VMWare Experience
- VB / PowerShell Scripting
- Cortex & McAfee Antivirus Experience
- G-Suite experience
