The Role You Will Play to Create Success
We are excited to announce our search for a full-time Sr. Tax Coordinator! In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the FrankCrum business everyday by ensuring payroll related taxes are withheld and paid to the appropriate agency on a timely basis.
- Researches and determines applicable Federal, state, and / or local taxes and enters appropriate tax codes to ensure proper setup and timely payment.
- Researches notifications of social security number mismatches and takes action to notify the corresponding agencies and internal departments to resolve as appropriate. Performs amendments and W-2C as applicable.
- Prepares and files withholding and state unemployment tax returns and payments on weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Reviews state and local payroll tax updates and ensures tax information is updated correctly.
- Runs the tax reconciliation report to review tax errors and fix accordingly.
- Assists reconciliation of W-2 process at year end by cross testing wages and taxes withheld.
- Reviews state and local Forms W-2 requirements and submits state and local Forms W-2 accordingly: electronically or by mail if permitted.
- Responds to miscellaneous client requests and supports various departments regarding various tax issues.
- Validates webmaster notifications and alerts between systems.
- Validates yearly SUI rate changes, notifies underwriting, calculates back-bill for SUI rate changes, and updates systems with account numbers and rates after verification from the state.
- Files amendments with the state for SIT and SUI adjustments.
- Compiles information for the auditors’ quarterly procedures engagement.
The Attributes We Seek
Keys to success in this position include knowledge of Federal, state, and local taxing authority regulations. Minimum three (3) years of payroll tax experience; payroll experience and accounting is a plus. Associates degree in accounting or related experience is required.
