Description

Summary

  • Provides assistance in loss prevention and supports the recovery of losses. Assists in the maintenance of risk and compliance management driven processes affecting the Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responds to internal and external fraud alerts and reports received from multiple sources, including fraud detection software and other internal systems, to detect and respond to suspicious and fraudulent activity. 
  • Contacts and effectively communicates with members, peers, and front-line staff, as needed via multiple channels (phone, email, secure messages) to obtain and/or validate information and confirm authorization of transactions or other account activity.
  • Assists with monitoring and maintaining member documents related to Non-Resident Aliens. 
  • Assists with the tracking, maintenance and possible follow-up of the Credit Union's Red Flag Program, NMLS registrations and related alerts.
  • Assists with responding to subpoenas, search warrants and other requests seeking financial records.
  • Assist with cross-training of department staff
  • Continuously demonstrates a strong analytical ability to research and interpret data and assist in building, documenting and maintaining effective policies and procedures.
  • Supports a fraud aware culture through the development and delivery of internal anti-fraud training. 
  • Assumes responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for Senior Management, auditors and other personnel, as needed.
  • Stays abreast of compliance and risk  related subjects by participating in professional organizations, coursework, workshops, or reading professional literature
  • Responsible for adhering to operational controls, including compliance with all required regulations and policies such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to ensure the safety and soundness of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and its members.

Qualifications


Education/Experience

  • High School diploma with a minimum of three (3) years of experience working for a financial institution, or equivalent experience.
  • Associates degree preferred
