Franz Family Bakeries is looking for a high energy, capable and dependable individual to be responsible for coordinating activities with procuring goods and services such as raw materials and packaging with suppliers, while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages Replenishment team.
- Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Forecasts procurement needs.
- Builds and develops relationships with key suppliers and customers.
- Prepares purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
- Continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects.
- Analyzes trends and market conditions for present and future pricing.
- Ensures compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered, resolves shipment in error with suppliers.
- Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
- Adherence to company policies.
- Support and adherence to Franz core values.
- Additional duties and or responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of purchasing, inventory control, ingredients, and packaging preferably in the food industry.
- Must be persuasive and diplomatic.
- Must have effective bartering and negotiation skills.
- Must have a positive safe work ethic, be a team player, detail oriented and reliable.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and flexibility to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge required (vlookups, pivot tables, shortcuts).
- Preferred Navision experience or other ERP software.
- Must have leadership skills i.e., excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability.
- Travel: Light.
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
