The Child and Family Team (CFT) Meeting Facilitation program is a partnership between Fred Finch, San Diego County Child Welfare Services, Behavioral Health Services, and Probation. CFT promotes the overall well-being of youth up to 21 years old through enhanced communication and collaboration with the people most important in their lives, including family and caregivers.
When a specific need surfaces, CFT staff take the lead in organizing, scheduling, and facilitating a meeting. The CFT facilitator starts by working with the youth and family or caregivers to discuss who specifically needs to participate in the treatment plan, which may include Protective Social Workers, Protective Social Worker Supervisors, Probation Officers, teachers, psychiatrists and therapists. The facilitator also convenes natural supports important to the family and youth such as neighbors, relatives, family friends, religious leaders and sports coaches.

What You Will Do
The CFT Facilitator is responsible for Child and Family Team Meeting Facilitation to include all aspects of meeting scheduling (location, venue, and time) with assigned families in accordance with published CFT standards and principles.
Under the direction of the Lead CFT Facilitator, the Facilitator develops an individualized plan to meet the goals of the youth and family. The plan should be designed to capitalize on the strengths of assigned families while ensuring coordination of both professionally based and community-based supports. The Facilitator is responsible for insuring that there is only one CFT Team process per family to improve family engagement, and to improve transition to a permanent, loving home at the earliest possible time.

Full Time - Hourly; Mon-Fri/8am-5pm
Salary Range
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $19.89 and $25.94 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):
- B.A. Degree. in related field (social work, counseling, psychology, criminal justice).
- A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory/management experience in a child welfare, probation or behavioral health setting required; relevant leadership experience may be considered.
- One (1) year of experience as a facilitator working with diverse groups, including youth, parents, substitute care providers, child welfare or probation department staff, mental health providers and community-based organizations.
- Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse participants, families and communities.
- Demonstrated understanding of the developmental milestones of children, youth, or young adults to provide to provide care, treatment and services.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize de-escalation techniques that align with the trauma informed care model as part of intervention strategy for working with participants in crisis who are responding to triggers/stressors and/or demonstrating early indicators of distress.
- Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and/or competency with electronic clinical documentation systems.
- Clean driving record; current CA Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 10 days after hired.
Preferred
- Experience advocating, preferably as the family member, for someone who has received mental health or other services, and/or experience as a parent who has received services for a special needs child and/or experience as a consumer of services.
- Bilingual skills in a threshold language as defined by contract (bilingual skills may be required by the contract).
- Uses a strength-based, culturally competent approach to job activities, participant, and community service.
