THE OPPORTUNITY:

Freedom is seeking a Director of Internal Compliance supporting internal and external audit and technical accounting operations across our businesses. Our ideal candidate will bring their expertise as it relates to accounting and financial services to support our continued expansion and the increasing complexity of our business.  This individual reports to the VP Controller and manages the Internal Audit and Technical Accounting team located in Tempe, AZ.

THE ROLE:

• Responsible for implementing, directing and overseeing the audit and compliance programs
• Directs audits and reviews of controls, procedures and compliance with policies and regulations
• Supports external audit engagements
• Oversees full audit cycle for risk management and internal controls for financial reporting
• Develop annual plans and scope of internal audit
• Analyze and assess accounting documentation, reporting, data and flowcharts for ICFS
• Prepare reports of internal audit results, document process and prepare memorandums
• Oversees technical accounting – white papers, memorandums and research for business strategies for GAAP

REQUIREMENTS/CHARACTERISTICS:

• CPA, MBA or CIA a plus
• 2-5+ years of public accounting experience
• Financial Services industry experience
• Familiarity with technical accounting topics and consolidation principles
• Attention to detail, with strong analytical and independent judgement skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
