What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Office position at Freedom Healthworks?
FreedomDoc is a new Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice. Patients subscribe to a monthly membership fee that gives them an all-access pass to their physician through many modalities such as inoffice visits, video visits, phone calls and text messaging. Candidate must have working knowledge of computer and EMR (preferred but required). Must display caring and professional demeanor with good judgment and the ability to multi-task. Expertise required for the position: excellent speaking and verbal skills in English.
Along with written and organization skills with the ability to deal effectively with staff, providers and patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Manage incoming communication and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming appointments on the calendar.
- Register patients; retrieve and update the patients' demographics.
- Take thorough messages for providers.
- Make appointments over the phone or in person for patients.
- Reviewing and resolving incoming faxes and assigning them via Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to the appropriate destination.
- Scan medical records/documents into EMR software.
- Call patients to let them know of any balance pending for their upcoming appointments.
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times.
- Ensure waiting and reception areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Place telephone calls to new patients to confirm upcoming appointments and verify information required of the patient at the time of appointment.
- Place telephone calls on no-show appointments; reschedule as needed.
- Maintain reception area for cleanliness and order, restocking marketing materials, coffee supplies and snacks as needed.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
