Position Summary 

The Regional Chain Manager will carry on our vision as we continue to innovate and introduce new brands to the market and identify opportunities for our proven brands such as Mionetto, Freixenet, Segura Viudas, and Gloria Ferrer. You will be personally calling on selected retailers in key sales geographies. You will maintain and develop strong working relationships with distributor chain sales management and key account personnel as well as develop direct business relationships in conjunction with the Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and State Sales Managers (SSM) with decision makers of regional retail chains. 


The RCM will report to the Director of Sales (DoS) on a regular basis to ensure that milestones are met and work is progressing as per-plan. Furthermore, the RCM will work closely with RSM and SSM to ensure execution of pricing and planners is executed. It will also be incumbent on this position to work with RSM and SSM to manage our LMF, TMF and ROI.  The RCM will define, implement and manage a sales strategy, by state and brand for his or her territory that will contribute to the achievement of Freixenet Mionetto USA sales objectives.

  • Develop direct business relationships in conjunction with the RSM and SSM with decision makers of regional retail chains throughout the South Central Region.
  • Develop relationships with distributor chain executives, management, and key account managers/account executives.
  • Serve as the primary lead and liaison for all Regional and National Chains in the South Central Region.
  • Identify and action opportunities within Regional Chains to grow the share of Freixenet Mionetto USA business.
  • Prioritize business development to increase distribution and promotions in the Regional Chain channel.
  • Develop and implement category management and capabilities that drive the growth of Freixenet Mionetto USA business.
  • Work directly with distributor merchandising teams to ensure execution of all planner activity.
  • Influence program development to support off-premise channel efforts and provide direction on retail/channel strategies to the marketing department.
  • In conjunction with the FXMUSA sales team develop and execute annual business plan for his or her territory in compliance with Freixenet Mionetto USA sales strategy and policies (by account, state, brand, and key SKUs).
  • Present, and update annual sales plans on a regular basis in conjunction with Freixenet Mionetto sales team at distributors and Freixenet Mionetto USA VPS.
  • Work with the National Account team on calls to drive new distribution, volume, programs, and planners.
  • Supervise pricing, programming, and sales incentives for Regional Accounts with the DoS. 

-   Manage Regional Account annual budgets if one exists and goals

  • Conduct and prepare Top-to-Top meetings with Distributor Chain Account teams and Executives in conjunction with Freixenet Mionetto Division team.
  • Provide timely and accurate weekly/monthly territory progress reports to VPS and pertinent distributor personnel.
  • Work in tandem and effectively with Freixenet Mionetto Division Sales team at the distributor and customer level to achieve company sales goals.
  • Attending and participating in distributor sales meetings, product seminars, and trade shows if needed.
  • Ability to upsell and sell additional products/services to existing clients.
  • Conduct sales meetings and training seminars for distributor sales staff.
  • Developing positive relationships with other employees of the company in Marketing, Administration, Logistics, Finance and other departments as needed.

Required Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree and 10-15 years of field sales experience in the wine and spirits industry
  • 5 years chain management experience 
  • Strong experience in calling on retail food, drug, or mass merchandise chains at the headquarter level, preferably in the adult beverage category
  • Sales channels strategic approach and planning
  • Planning, organization, and knowledge of the chain business 
  • Understanding and ability to improve and grow sales in all areas of the business
  • Knowledge of retail category management concepts
  • Advanced training in sales skills.
  • Leadership Ability - to provide relationship management, development, and team building with your peers or team
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management and personnel
  • Experience in preparing written presentations, reports and pricing strategies for all sales channels
  • Strong strategic analysis skills
  • Strong proficiency in Nielsen data, IRI data, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as knowledge of Diver Trade Pulse and iDig (VIP)

Travel

  • This position has frequent travel requirements outside the local area and overnight. 30%-50% travel is expected.  
  • Able to travel and work during some weekends or evenings as necessary.

 

Residency

  • Texas (DFW or HOU areas preferred)
