COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

FreshDirect, in compliance with New York City law, is requiring that all employees working in any of our New York City locations be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they are approved for a medical or religious accommodation. As a part of this process, you will be required to provide supporting documentation about the reason you cannot be vaccinated. If your request for an accommodation is not approved, then your employment will be terminated.

If you are vaccinated, you are required to have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose prior to your first day of employment and to provide proof of your vaccination status no later than your first day of your employment. For the two COVID-19 shot regimens, you will be required to provide proof of your second COVID-19 shot within the first 45 days of the first dose. Failure to provide timely proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will result in you being placed on an unpaid leave of absence and potential termination of employment from FreshDirect.

The Controls Technician will provide technical support and serve as a technical resource to maintenance staff and assist with troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
• Serve as a technical resource to maintenance staff and assist with troubleshooting and training on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), servos, drives, and human machine interfaces (HMIs)
• Work with other team members to detect problems and implement solutions.
• Coordinate project work internally and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget.
• Ability to ascertain customer needs to help develop project scope and specifications.

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in controls engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• PLC programming knowledge (Allen-Bradley).
• SCADA system knowledge (Ignition) strongly preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, and control circuits.
• Willingness to expand controls knowledge base – new systems, technology, etc.
• Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems.
• Ability to analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements.
• Technical proficiency in one or more programming language.
• Ensure quality and safety standards are upheld.
• Mechanical aptitude experience preferred.
• Plant operations experience a plus.
• Available to work nights and weekends.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture.
