What You Will Do 

Freshpet has an outstanding opportunity for a reliable and self-motivated, CDL Truck Driver, who will carry out responsibilities to meet daily transportation goals.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Qualified with a CDL “A” to operate and safely drive your assigned commercial company vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs.
• Transport pallet of goods and packages from place of origin to assigned destination
• Ability to confidently diagnose and fix simple problems that come up with vehicle
• Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage
• Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with the clients
• Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
• Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
• Perform inspections of your company vehicle prior to and at the end of your shift
• Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
• Notify Transportation Manager of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
• Track and report working hours
• Adhere to company rules and regulations
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.   Make Safety a priority always
• Comply with DOT regulations
• Ability to perform warehouse duties
• Perform other duties assigned

What You Will Bring 

• High School diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
• Valid Commercial driver’s license (CDL “A”) required
• Forklift Certified
• 2 years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
• Self-starter who works well independently
• Clean driving record with no moving violations
• Comfortable maneuvering tractor into loading and unloading positions
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. at a time

• Strong verbal communicator
