JOB DESCRIPTION

Volunteer Services Program Assistant

Goal of Position:

The Volunteer Services Program Assistant will assist the Volunteer Services Program Director with the administration of the one-on-one volunteer programs, especially the Volunteer Transportation program, and with volunteer coordination in delivering services, as directed by the Executive Director. The position is under the direct supervision of the Program Director. This is currently a “regular part-time” position, as defined in the Friends in Action Employee Handbook. Schedule of hours worked will be mutually agreed upon between the Program Director and the Program Assistant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates client requests and volunteer assignments, in consultation with the Program Director.
  • Assists the Program Director with volunteer program activities to meet organizational goals.
  • Assists with volunteer record keeping and with other office activities
  • Assists with volunteer training.
  • Assists with special events for volunteers
  • Assists with other activities to meet organizational goals as defined by the Executive Director and Volunteer Services Program Director.

Qualifications: The Volunteer Services Program Assistant should have experience working with volunteers and older people in a number of settings, should have good communication skills (especially on the telephone), and should have good computer skills to maintain volunteer and client records. Knowledge of the Hancock County area is required and a familiarity with transportation and other resources is helpful.

This is currently 20 hours per week with the probabilty of increased hours in the future.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
