Friends To Parents(FTP) is a non-profit agency in South San Francisco dedicated to children and parents since 1974. Our goal is to provide quality services at affordable prices. FTP is committed to serving all children ages 6 months to five years of age. It is our goal to create an environment for the optimal growth and development of children.

It is our belief that the first few years are life are very important. Children are society's most precious commodity and are entitled to the finest nurturing available. It is our ultimate goal to provide a safe, secure and loving environment while implementing an individualized developmental program. FTP also believes that a nutritionally sound program, Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack further enhances our goals.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team and contribute to the positive learning experiences of our children.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units; Core ECE courses-Child Development, Early Childhood Education Principles, Early Childhood Education Curriculum, Child, Family & Community.
  • Minimum of Associate Teacher Permit or higher or applicable ECE units core units to obtain an Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
  • 1 year of Early Childhood Education Experience (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of leading a classroom teaching team.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education and child development.
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and or preschool-aged children.
  • Commitment to promoting the mission and values of Friends to Parents.
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for education and learning.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Submission of TB clearance, health screening and background check as required by Title 22 Licensing.
  • CTC Child Development Permit, a plus
  • CPR and First Aid Certification, a plus
  • US Work Authorization and excellent references.
  • Ability to learn and implement Early Childhood Education principles

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging Interactions: Create a positive and respectful atmosphere by interacting with children at their level, responding to their needs, and modeling appropriate social behavior.
  • Developing Curriculum: Develop curriculum and lesson plans that promote individuality, independence, and problem solving, while also providing age-appropriate activities with an emphasis on social-emotional development, self-help foundational skills, and cognitive developmental milestones.
  • Safety First: Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and supervising children at all times.
  • Effective Communication: Foster professional and friendly communication with parents and visitors, while maintaining confidentiality and sharing pertinent information with the lead teacher.
  • Team Player: Collaborate with colleagues to resolve conflicts, support curriculum planning, and maintain a respectful and cooperative working relationship.
  • Physical Engagement: Be prepared to fully participate in all activities, including outdoor play and child interaction, while maintaining a high level of mental and physical alertness.

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
