Essential Job Functions:
The Catering Sales Manager will focus on selling catering within the social, wedding, or
corporate event market. This person will seek and develop intentional and trusting
relationships with event planners, office managers, executive assistants, and venue
managers. This position will still have some service responsibilities, including having an
on-site presence for events. The Catering Sales Manager will need to have a flexible
schedule; work will be partially in the office and partially remote throughout the
week.
Targets catering events and holiday celebrations with heavy emphasis on
proactive solicitation and account saturation.
Identifies, qualifies and solicits new catering business to achieve personal and
company-wide revenue goals.
Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable
future bookings.
Attends and hosts networking events.
Answers incoming leads in an efficient and effective manner.
Continuously seeks outside opportunities for new relationships in the events
environment.
Develops effective catering sales plans and actions, such as client engagement
events, sales drops, booking incentives, outreach plans, etc.
Understands the overall competitors' strengths and weaknesses and industry
trends.
Communicates with and assists our booked clients through the completion
and finalization of their events, ending in event recap to ensure client
satisfaction.
Finalizes clients' menus and rental selections.
Collects scheduled payments.
Represents Vestals Catering and develops relationships within community to
strengthen and expand customer base for catering sales opportunities.
Listen to client needs, identify solutions, and create custom event proposals.
Leads pre-event meetings when applicable.
Day of representation at the event location to build relationship and oversee
client experience, and ensuring event is set up to client’s specifications.
Reports directly to Director of Catering Sales
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have own transportation.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
High school diploma or GED.
2 year's experience in a customer facing role.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong Word, Excel, Power Point, office equipment and computer skills.
