What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance position at Frontier Assisted Living?
Purpose: Responsible for ensuring that the community is safe, attractive, and well maintained and is operating within the community maintenance budget.
$16/hr D.O.E.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

- Relevant work experience (2 plus years preferred)
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, Regulatory officials, and the general public.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly. (Job tasks are tending to residents for repairs at times.)
- Must have basic reporting and organizational skills
- Must be capable of maintaining full time attendance
- Must meet all state health requirements.
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to read and write to 12th grade level.
- Subject to a criminal background check.
Essential Functions:
- Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements in maintenance department and all other state and local regulations.
- Work closely with community Director and owners to help evaluate and find solutions to routine maintenance needs.
- Provide information regarding maintenance to the Community Director through weekly/monthly reports.
- Care for the routine maintenance needs of the community and its residents as if they were your own home and family.
- Assist Community Director with fire and life safety training and drills.
- Be extremely familiar with life safety and all operational systems in the community
- Promptly respond to resident/director/staff request for maintenance through maintenance reports and log systems
- Ensure 24-Hour repair/response time for all daily maintenance request.
- All minor repairs including basic carpentry, painting, electricity, plumbing, locksmiths, and preventative maintenance.
- Carry out tasks associated with a standardized preventative maintenance program and record all preventative maintenance completed.
- Community must be mechanically sound, safe and well maintained. Interiors must be neat, paint and wall coverings clean, sound and chip/scratch free. Maintenance staff will have keen sense of detail with regard to these items. Patching, painting and repair will be a major part of the maintenance program as well as carpet care and maintenance.
- Grounds, building exteriors and interior, signage, are maintained year around.
- Other duties as assigned.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct routine inspections of services provided to ensure the highest quality.
Compliance:
- Maintain current knowledge of State Regulations and ensure 100% compliance in all surveys conducted by licensing authority, HIPPA and OSHA
Working Conditions:
- Must be willing and available for emergency calls via cell.
- Able to work full-time
Physical/Sensory Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices):
Walking, reaching, heavy lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing/pulling, distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, read and write to college level, communicate with residents and personnel, remain calm under stressful conditions.
