In this role you will be responsible for performing manual labor needed to install or replace oil and gas pipelines. 

You will: 

  • Assist in ground site preparations with minimal disruption to the surrounding improvements and infrastructure. 
  • Place, remove and/or maintain items within the worksite. This includes, but is not limited to, steel pipe, bags of material and other heavy items, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping and installing pipe, duct or cable. 
  • Dig ditches, backfill excavation, jackhammer rock and compact and level earth to grade specifications using shovels, tampers and rakes. Clean up rubble and debris as needed. 
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials. 
  • Perform technical construction and repair on pipelines as needed. 
  • Stand fire watch as directed. 
  • Load material or equipment for transport from yard to job site and secure as appropriate. 
  • Secure work site, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials. 
  • Monitor, inspect and maintain equipment to ensure optimal operation. Identify and address any problems or defects. 
  • Keep worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards. 
  • Follow all policies and procedures, with strict attention to safety, per company and client standards. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • May be required to work overtime and/or make an adjustment to work schedule, particularly during peak construction periods to ensure that all planned work is completed. 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of one year of steel pipeline laborer experience in construction, oil and gas or related industry preferred. 
  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: 

  • Perform very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 
  • See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Climb, kneel, stand, walk crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar tasks requiring physical activity. 
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather including dry, wet and humid conditions where temperatures can range from below zero to 90+ degrees with exposure to noise, dust, gasses, fumes, mists, odors and vibrations; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
