Practice Manager I

Job Summary

The Practice Manager I is responsible for the management of 1-2 physician practice locations and/or with (combined) 1 -5 providers. This role is responsible for managing all functions of the assigned physician practices operated by LifePoint, including organization and planning of the services provided by the practice.

Essential Functions

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
• Assist unit counselor with psychosocial and group therapy. Functioning as a group facilitator of education groups under professional direction.

Minimum Education
Associates Degree required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
In lieu of degree, candidate must have 5 years experience as a Practice Manager.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Work Experience
Four (4) years supervisory and/or management experience within a healthcare environment, medical group office, or outpatient facility
Experience developing key relationships within an integrated delivery system such as hospital, health plan and support departments
Knowledge of health care environment, medical office policies and procedures, general accounting procedures and human resource management practices
Strong written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify and solve problems, makes decisions, and implements changes
Ability to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities
Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with clinic physician leadership and staff physicians to carry out clinic mission, goals and objectives
Strong knowledge of Practice Management Systems and Electronic Medical Records
Demonstrated management and leadership skills, particularly mentoring, coaching and conflict management
Personal style which emphasizes openness, visibility and approachability
Excellent listening and follow-through abilities and a willingness to accept constructive criticism
Ability to travel between facilities in an efficient manner
