About the Role:
We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and help support a scaling e-commerce business. In this role, you will be responsible for essential tasks, such as financial close preparation, account reconciliations and analysis, billing, and monthly financial reporting. Additionally, this position will handle auditor and outside tax accountant requests, maintain internal control processes, and assist in ad-hoc projects as needed. What you’ll do:
Take ownership of day to day accounting activities which include:
- Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting processes.
- Interface with other Company department personnel on cross functional teams.
- Uphold company standards when working with processes to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls.
- Professional maturity and demonstrated experience managing confidential information.
Support monthly Accounting Department activities which include:
- Execute monthly closing procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations,supporting documentation) in compliance with GAAP
- Responsible for various accounting processes, which may include general ledger, prepaids, cash, accruals, fixed assets, debt, commissions, AR billing
- Analyze financial information and report on results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks).
- Work with auditors to provide documentation and support for accounting transactions, balances, and internal controls.
- Meet regularly with assigned department heads to review budget vs actual performance, being the liaison to the department
- Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Assist third party service providers to ensure that sales and use taxes, 1099s, and property taxes, are filed properly and timely
What you’ll need:
- BS/BA in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred, not required
- 4-5-year accounting related experience
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (Including V/H-lookups, Pivot Table, Index-Match)
- NetSuite or other ERP experience preferred
- Accuracy and attention to detail required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in teams
- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues, and resolve problems independently
Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000
Discretionary Annual Bonus Eligibility: Up to 10%
