The VDC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the BIM resources responsible for successful creation and modification of Building Information Models and associated documents/drawings in 2D and 3D from conceptual design through successful installation for electrical and specialty system construction, by leading and instructing the virtual construction team of BIM technicians. The Supervisor is also responsible for skill assessment, skill development, and resource planning of the BIM Technician team. The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft 365 Suite. Candidate must have advanced knowledge of the required software (Revit MEP, Navisworks, Bluebeam, etc.).
Delegates tasks to appropriate parties; clearly communicates needs and expectations. Measures and monitors the work of individual direct reports and/or collective team/taskforce teams(s). Coaches and motivates direct reports/appropriate individual to effectively perform; removes barriers to success and provides feedback, necessary resources, and open communication. This position works in a team environment and must be able to effectively collaborate verbally and in writing, be reliable and possess a positive work ethic, and have strong problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
Experience: 6 years of electrical detailing experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
or
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 10 years of field experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
Travel: 10-20%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; overtime may be required. However, work may need to be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight (70% of effort)
- Maintains and tracks detailed scope of work and associated BIM/VDC hours to meet the projects contractually obligated requirements and/or associated project requested work (one overall dashboard/tool).
- Establishes deliverables based around the project schedule for BIM coordination and construction.
- Conducts project resource forecasting and lookahead centered around established schedule and deliverables.
- Tracks project actual hours/cost to estimate.
- Mitigates, tracks, and reports scope modifications to internal and/or external stakeholders.
- Provides QA/QC of modeling effort, modeled components, and project documentation.
- Incorporates, oversees, forecasts, and tracks 3rd party modeling services to support BIM efforts.
- Supports project modeling and/or detailing as necessary.
- Team Development (10% of effort)
- Trains new team members.
- Schedules and conductus monthly one on one meetings with team members, or more frequently with new team members and underachieving individuals.
- Secondary hiring (final fit of potential team member into their respective team).
- Mentors and develops team members.
- Establishes accountability and tracks progress of team members assigned scope, project tasks, and deliverables.
- Implements performance improvement plans, as required.
- Resource Alignment (10% of effort)
- Resource allocations and project forecasting for assigned projects and tasks
- Aligns resource needs to meet project requirements, deliverables, and expectations.
- Compares weekly projected hours to actual spent hours (automatically pulled from Viewpoint into overall dashboard/tool).
- Participates in weekly resource call.
- Incorporates scope modification hours into planned and forecasted schedule.
- Technical Support (10% of effort)
- Aids in development of group standards, objectives, and processes, such as training, scope of work, project tracking.
- Sets up project and model.
- Provides day-to-day technical support to team members.
- Researches and develops, such as testing and trialing of new tools and processes.
