Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for a variety of cost and general accounting activities including but not limited to, account analysis, preparation and posting of journal entries, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts. May reconcile difficult accounts. Supports cost accounting activities, including but not limited to, product costing and implementation of engineering change orders. Position will analyze inventory balances and perform monthly test counts of inventory. Position will create ad hoc reports for department managers and recurring inventory and cost analysis reporting for the monthly financial package. Additional primary responsibilities include AR and Treasury functions, supporting Accounts Payable, Sale s & Use Tax analysis and reporting, Fixed Asset tracking and analysis, departmental spending analysis, and supporting the New Hampshire and California Accounting teams with internal and external auditing. Is able to review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rule and regulations. Uses office-automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries.

Typical Degree & Years of Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience. Some barriers to entry exist at this level, requiring department review.

- Balance Sheet analysis
- Maintain account reconciliations
- Prepare month end adjusting journal entries
- Review and research departmental expense postings at month end
- Support Fixed asset process as the point of contact for capital requests
- Conduct annual physical audit of fixed assets
- Support New Hampshire AP process
- Analyze California invoices for sales and use tax liability
- Process sales and use tax returns
- Prepares monthly reporting schedules
- Assist with creation of formal process documentation
- Interact effectively with internal customers
