JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing and maintaining hardware implemented in SonoSite proprietary FPGAs.   Responsible for design, simulation, synthesis, verification, and test activities associated with FPGA development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

Job Responsibilities:

• FPGA design documentation
• Develop FPGA code
• FPGA design verification
  • Develop and document test plans
  • Develop simulation test bench code
  • Run simulations – collect and document results
  • Verification on hardware – collect and document results
• FPGA synthesis
  • Define and write timing constraints
  • Timing verification
• Work with other teams as needed for system integration

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

Knowledge/Experience

• Accredited Engineering Degree – BA EE with 2 years of related experience
• Accredited Engineering Degree – MS EE
• Experience with FPGA design software (Altera and or Xilinx)
• Experience with VHDL, Verilog acceptable
• Experience with simulation tools (Mentor Questa/Modelsim desired)

Skills/Abilities  

• Demonstrated proficiency with FPGA verification tools, languages and methodologies (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, or C/C , scripting in Python, Tcl, Bash)
• Experience with randomized regression testing is highly desired
• Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be available for working extended hours during critical phases of development programs
