Summary:

 

As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will encompass a broad range of mechanical engineering responsibilities. You will be highly focused on the design of medical devices in a fast paced environment, ensuring the quality of ultrasound products that are highly portable, rugged, and very easy to use.  Specific tasks include: (1) translation of system requirements into detailed designs that conform to the customer expectations and industry safety standards, (2) design and refinement of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, (3) use of simulation and analysis to supplement design and resolve issues, and (4) verification and documentation of design through confidence testing and performance demonstration. This position will also lead internal projects, work with suppliers to implement solutions, and support the transfer of new products to manufacturing.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Solve technical issues both as an individual and as a participant on cross-functional teams.
  • Work in teams with other engineers to design ultrasound devices in a SolidWorks environment using sound engineering principles.
  • Follow the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for ultrasound hardware products to ensure a seamless transition to production.
  • Effectively manage key aspects of projects including schedule, cost, deliverables, technical coordination and design reviews.
  • Prioritize work and break down assignments into tasks that can be organized and executed to meet performance and schedule goals.
  • Create clear and accurate documentation for the product design and the development process.
  • Create and maintain updates to product Bill of Materials (BoM) in the Oracle (Agile) PLM system.
  • Actively contribute to product innovation and process improvement exercises.
  • Work with strategic outsourced engineering partners and suppliers to ensure delivery of hardware that meets quality and performance requirements.
  • Ensure the quality, durability and reliability of products through rigorous confidence testing and demonstration of performance.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • BSEE or MSEE from an ABET accredited institution
  • Greater than 5 years of experience in a related position.
  • Competent with SolidWorks CAD solid modeling and analysis tools.
  • Experience in design of molded plastics, die casting, sheet metal and/or electronics packaging.
  • Experience working in an FDA regulated environment, or other regulated industry is a plus.
  • Experience developing mid-volume (greater than 5,000 annually) or high-volume products is a plus.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $97,000 - $115,000 depending on experience variable bonus opportunity

    • Fujifilm matches 50 cents for every dollar you contribute, up to 6% of your salary
  • Paid Time Off:

    • PTO increases based on years of service
  • Employee Choice Holidays:
    • Four (4) additional paid days off, based on date of hire in the calendar year
  • Paid Holidays:
    • Seven (7) paid holidays per year
