The Role
In collaboration with Maintenance department management, existing Associate Controls resources, and with operating groups, the PLC Programmer will support development and enhancement of Mesa site Controls programs. The PLC Programmer will also support business objectives through capital project execution, as required.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop PLC programs and related HMI (human-machine interfaces)
- Draw cable and schematic plans for use in the construction and installation of Controls
- Design, test, and troubleshoot Controls systems
- Configure and troubleshoot networking components regarding Controls systems
- Prepare part numbers and compile bills of materials (BoM)
- Work proficiently with all types of motors and drives, and associated software
- Analyze and recommend solutions to circuit and Controls challenges
- Work cooperatively with other engineers to create Controls system
- Assist Process Engineering in preparing and verifying working and test procedures for Production activities
- Provide technical support to Service Technicians for service
- Provide internal training for Service Technicians training when required
- All other duties as reasonably assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in instrumentation or related field
- 1 to 3 years of experience working in an industrial, manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Industrial Controls / PLC programming with a focus on Allen Bradley Controllogix equipment and systems
- Hands-on knowledge and experience with complex instrumentation and Associate Controls systems
- Familiarity Foundation Field Bus protocol systems and infrastructure
- Familiarity with design and deployment of SCADA systems architecture
- Experience in Controls systems troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Sufficient knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance in support of operational objectives
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Strong computer skills (MS-Excel, Word, Google Mail, Drive, etc.) required
- Detail oriented individual, able to manage multiple tasks with input from various individuals in the maintenance and engineering department
- Must have a valid Arizona drivers’ license and clean driving record
- Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
- This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
