Note: This is a mostly remote position, requiring roughly 1 day per week on-site.
Overview:
As the Cost Support Coordinator, you'll assist the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in preventing the acquisition, proliferation, and use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and related materials. You'll work within the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Program Integration Department (CT-PI) to provide support across various areas including manpower, training, and cost estimation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve communication between the Cost Support Team and government support staff.
- Develop and implement project controls and tracking mechanisms.
- Provide analytical and metrics support for cost estimation.
- Collaborate with the team on multiple cost estimation projects.
- Document processes and guidance for cost support.
- Provide expertise in cost estimating, including developing Rough Orders of Magnitude (ROMs) and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
- Analyze historical data to refine cost estimates and predict future program costs.
- Conduct data collection and market research for cost estimation.
- Maintain and present Cost Team Metrics to management.
- Foster positive relationships with government support staff.
- Schedule meetings related to cost support tasks.
- Present draft and final cost support deliverables to clients.
- Prepare and submit monthly progress reports.
- Prepare and present quarterly status reports for the Program Integrator chief.
- Organize existing files and catalog new information received.
- Coordinate Cost Support Team-related trainings with other departments.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of federal acquisition life-cycle.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience with DoD cost estimation and planning efforts.
- Strong communication, written, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desired:
- Additional expertise in federal contracting regulations.
- Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD Series 5000 requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft Access skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders.
