Overview
Perform functions within Returns and Adjustments unit including but not limited to adjustments, returns and inclearing and image processing. Act as operational liaison for very significant commercial customers. Perform all processes and procedures in accordance with all bank policies and regulations.
This position is located at the Administrative Services Center in East Petersburg, Pennsylvania (near Lancaster)
8:00 – 4:30 or 8:30-5:00 Monday – Friday. This is a rotating schedule
Responsibilities
- Maintain Internal and External Customer Support of Various Accounts. Have expert knowledge of all systems associated with correcting demand deposit accounts, savings accounts, various sub ledger accounts and general ledger accounts. Understand and exercise the ability to execute internal and external customer account corrections within the department’s stated deadline. Properly handle adjustment cases involving items drawn on other financial institutions in a timely manner as stated in the Operating Circular by the Federal Reserve Bank. Utilize the appropriate resources when an adjustment involves another department or branch. Executing the Corporation’s promise to Care, Listen, Understand and Deliver with every interaction for all internal and external customer relationships. Act as the liaison for very significant business customers with whom we hold a contractual agreement to ensure all specified processes are completed by the deadlines stated in the customer’s agreement. Specifically the United States Post Office, Women, Infant and Children and Farmer Market Nutritional Program. Serve as subject matter expert for posting errors. Properly handle noncash items that cannot be transmitted electronically or via normal processing channels to the Federal Reserve Bank and or Clearing House. Report all unusual activity to Fraud Risk Management in a timely manner to eliminate any potential losses. Maintain a positive working relationship with all areas to streamline processes to ensure timely adjustments for both Internal and External customers.
- Serve as expert for all systems associated with the processing of a deposited return item. Properly identify qualifying items to the appropriate source incoming and outgoing return within the deadline set forth by the Federal Reserve Bank as stated in Regulation CC. Serve as subject matter expert and liaison for all internal customer inquiries. Maintain a positive relationship with other departments and affiliates so as to expedite daily processing of return items. Complete a daily reconcilement for reporting purposes to the Funds Management Department. Record large dollar items utilizing the online notification system for all return items totaling, five hundred or greater. Create and distribute both internal and external customer notices regarding return items.
- Support the Posting of Incoming and Outgoing Files. Maintain adequate knowledge of the image processing system to provide assistance with the maintenance of rejected items transmitted via branch capture. Properly post incoming onus files from the Federal Reserve bank or other correspondent banks by maintenance of rejected items. Utilize correct reports within the image processing system to ensure correct receipt of each incoming image file. Complete a daily reconcilement of the image files received for reporting purposes to the Funds Management team by the specified deadlines. Identify true duplicates through use of duplicate detection software to prevent any fraudulent activity or adverse customer impact.
- Maintain Foreign Item Processing. Effectively communicate with branch employees to expedite the handling of both USD and non USD items. Create transmittals for Scotia Bank and or the International Department by accounting for all USD and non USD checks.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent. (Required)
Experience
1 or more years Administration and banking. (Preferred)
