LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY
Employees at this level repair moderately complex electronic instruments and maintain complex instruments and equipment.
- Technician will be responsible for learning and assisting with the repair, setup, calibration, and testing of the recording and controlling instruments / test equipment used.
- Technicians must know how to Solder Surface Mount Components
- Ensures systems and components meet established specifications.
- Required to complete formal training in area of specialty.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular product.
- Maintain electronics lab including equipment calibration equipment and inventory of parts.
- Performs required repairs to return product to operational state.
- May assist with the training of new hires or current employees on qualified product.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE
- Technical diploma or 2-3 years’ experience as an Electronics Technician or related field, or equivalent combination experience and education. Equivalent military experience accepted.
- Demonstrated ability to use bench-top soldering/ de-soldering equipment for installing, removing, and replacing fine-pitch surface mount electronic components.
- Strong computer skills; must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of bench-top electronic test instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and PC-based test instrumentation.
- Interpret assembly drawings, diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
- Works well with other team members.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
Salary : $40,000 - $50,000
