Job Overview
The Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support the legal operations team and counsel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They are responsible for supporting the department in legal document preparation, file management, data entry, and other legal/administrative tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
· Draft legal documents: assist with drafting legal documents such as demand letters, hold requests, releases, payment arrangements, indemnities, etc.
· Manage correspondence: manage and respond to correspondence from merchants, counsel, collectors, and other parties. Prepare documentation for mail/express mail
· Prepare merchant files for court proceedings: assist with file preparation for bankruptcy and arbitration filings
· Data entry and record keeping: organize and maintain legal files by keeping accurate records, completing data entry, filing, and archiving documents
· Conduct research: assist with light research using online databases and other resources
· Other duties as assigned
Skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong interpersonal, record-keeping, and organizational skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & G-Suite
· Comfort in learning new software
· Ability to multi-task and meet short- and long- term deadlines
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with great discretion
· Ability to problem solve when faced with new or challenging tasks
· Welcoming to all and ready to work with a dynamic and diverse team
Experience
- At least one to two years of experience working in an office setting
- Administrative or office management experience preferred
Education Requirement
· High school diploma required.
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
