Backend Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to join our team in building a serverless Python data analytics platform. This role will involve developing backend APIs, creating features for the Fused Workbench platform, and contributing to our open-source Python package.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the open-source Fused Python package.
• Build and maintain a cutting-edge infrastructure for serverless Python API.
• Design system architecture following industry-standard security patterns.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• Highly experienced software engineer, preferably in a startup, writing high-quality production code.
• Strong proficiency in Python and REST API development. We work with packages like FastAPI, Pydantic, and Poetry.
• Experience with modern Python data stack like Pandas, PyArrow, DuckDB.
• Preferably experience with modern web technologies like WebAssembly, Pyodide, WebSockets, React and TypeScript.
• Experience with development and productionizing using PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes on AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• Experience rapidly getting up to speed on a code base and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
