What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Locator position at Future Infrastructure?
We are looking for a Utility Locator to join team at our East Texas, team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the correct, safe, and efficient locating and marking of utilities.
As a utility locator, you would be responsible for completing all assigned tasks by their due dates. Completing tasks consists of accurately locating and marking required underground utilities, specifically fiber and copper communication lines, taking clear photos of your markings, and updating supervisors of completed tasks and listing important notes.
Essential Functions:
- Adhere to company policies.
- Ensure that all devices are properly working daily.
- Ability to read and understand Utility Drawings and maps
- Ability to walk 3 to 5 miles a day if needed carrying equipment.
- Ability to work in adverse conditions.
- Ability to learn new devices.
- Update supervisor/manager of any issues or problems in the field.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- 1 to 2 years line locating experience is preferred.
- Able to read and comprehend utility drawings and/or maps.
- 1yr Computer Skills (Preferred).
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Strong time management skills.
- Must have/maintain a valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screening.
- Schedule: M-F and available for weekend work as needed.
Pay: Hourly plus Overtime and a company provided vehicle.
