ESOL Teacher - Contract 

Location: Baltimore, MD

Hour Salary Range (based on experience): $25

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution.

• Valid professional teaching certificate appropriate for ESOL.

• Knowledge of federal laws regarding students with disabilities.

• Familiarity with content, curriculum, methods, and materials relevant to ESOL instruction.

• understanding of the school's program of studies, mission, goals, and organization (preferred).

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to select instructional strategies and evaluation procedures based on student needs.

• Application of current research and theory to instructional programs.

• Capability to establish effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.

• Physical mobility to check student work and monitor behavior.

Job Description

What you will be doing:

• Plan and implement an instructional program for students in grades Kindergarten through 6 in English as a Second Language (ESOL).

• Assess student abilities and modify instructional activities as necessary.

• Create a positive and disciplined learning environment.

• Coordinate instructional activities and collaborate with other professionals.

• Utilize instructional materials, multimedia, and computer technology to enhance learning.

• Maintain continuous communication with parents regarding student progress.

• Manage student behavior and ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

• Participate in staff development activities and meetings.

• Assess and document student achievement.

• Assign work and oversee paraprofessionals and volunteers.

• Support school-wide activities and events.

• Collaborate with other professionals for school-wide instructional activities.

• Sponsor or coordinate extracurricular activities.

• Ensure compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
