Kitchen Staff

4-8PM, 6:45AM-3:15PM
Goal
The goal is to provide excellent food service for residents in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to all health and safety standards in accordance with Elmhurst Extended Care Center.
Job Brief
A dishwasher kitchen staff is to properly clean, sanitize, store, and maintain the food service equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware while upholding the sanitation of the kitchen.
Kitchen staff must be capable of adhering to all policies and procedures of kitchen. They must be willing and able to follow instructions and work cohesively with all kitchen staff and facility members. Dishwasher staff will report to food service manager.
Role & Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize work equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware before and after use.
- Take and record temperature of dishwashing machine, manual dishwashing sink and sanitizing buckets
- Load dishes, various tableware and kitchen utensils into dishwashing machine.
- Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage in designated area.
- Inform supervisor of pertinent information regarding dish machine
- Seep and mop kitchen, dry storage, and cooler/freezer floors
- Scrape leftovers from dishes into garbage containers
- Assist cooks and additional kitchen staff with various tasks as necessary
- Wheel resident carts and coffee carts onto proper floors during mealtime
- Clean and sanitize work area and dish machine daily.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- At least 16 years of age
- Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with all staff members and residents
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
- Preferably have experience with manual and automatic dishwasher
Compensation: $17-20 per hour
