GAC North America is seeking a dedicated Imports Coordinator to join our Logistics team in Houston. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating shipments with clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring all documentation is accurate and in compliance with procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Arrange execution of shipments, coordinating with all stakeholders.
Verify and ensure documentation is correct and that approved quotations are in place.
Monitor shipment schedules and provide regular updates to all parties.
Communicate any additional charges to customers and obtain confirmations in advance.
Dispatch freight after Customs clearance, ensuring claims are monitored and settled timely.
Pass operationally closed job files promptly for invoicing and ensure accuracy.
Alert the Head of Department regarding any cargo claims and coordinate with the team to enhance efficiency.
Handle additional tasks as needed for smooth organizational operations.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma OR related work experience.
2-3 years of experience in a similar logistics role or related industry exposure.
Knowledge of local customs and port clearance regulations.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
