Summary
Mainframe Production Control Analyst
The Production Control Analyst will contribute to the support of the NJ MMIS Project in an IBM zOS mainframe environment over multiple LPARs. This includes analysis, testing, running jobs and processes, and utilizing expertise and based on the experience requirements listed below.
Job Description
Essential Job Duties:
Analyze, plan, and manage mainframe operational activities in production and test environments.
Analyze, develop, test, and operate file transfer workflows both internally and externally.
Responsible for ensuring overnight batch processing is complete so that Daily Online activities commence according to schedule. Monitor the execution of jobs and adjust production schedules for timely delivery.
Perform changes to schedules to ensure optimal use of mainframe resources.
Analyze operational issues and application abends, analyze root causes, derive solutions, and take corrective actions following documented procedures.
Work closely with Programmers and Business Analysts to solve issues, complete projects, and deploy new functionality.
Interpret functional requirements, technical specifications, and application design documents to understand application interdependencies and job flows.
Identify and document areas of process improvement.
Key Requirements
Key Requirements:
Knowledge and experience with: Mainframe production control activities which revolve around mainframe job scheduling using CA Jobtrac and/or Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS. File transfers using sFTP, Connect:Direct, Automate BPA. Project code promotions using ENDEVOR and/or Git DBB.
Strong experience with TSO/ISPF, JCL, VSAM, CICS, COBOL, SYNCSORT and Easytrieve. Strobe and File-Aid a plus.
Ability to work independently from home while communicating and interacting remotely.
Experience using business tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Office, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or related field and/or 8 years of directly related experience in systems analysis in a mainframe environment.
Must have effective interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills, professional level of diction and grammar, ability to organize own work schedule, manage complex projects, and ensure that assigned tasks are completed by specified deadlines.
Ability to show initiative in ambiguous circumstances and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to work outside normal business hours as needed, and as part of an on-call rotation.
Experience with Medicaid/Medicare systems processing, including Claims, Provider, and Member Eligibility. Managed Care, and Prescription Benefits a plus.
