Litigation Paralegal
Galante & Bivalacqua, LLC has an opening for an experienced paralegal to work in a fast-paced setting with a friendly and collaborative team.
Daily tasks include:
- Assisting with the preparation, filing and service of pleadings including electronic filings on both federal and state court websites.
- Drafting of correspondence, subpoenas, deposition notices, notices of service, discovery requests, etc.
- Tracking and maintaining all incoming Pacer filings and calendaring when applicable.
- Maintaining attorney calendars, including the calculation and calendaring of all legal deadlines.
- Working with clients to coordinate the collection of outgoing document production and responses to discovery.
- Maintaining and keeping file databases organized, including management of pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and medical records.
- Acting as liaison between all relevant parties and communicating with Court chambers, opposing counsel, sheriffs’ offices, medical offices, and clients.
- Summarization of deposition and hearing transcripts.
- Researching of case-related factual materials using WestLaw.
- Providing support during trials and hearings, including administrative assistance.
The ideal candidate:
- Has proven working experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Has a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
- Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Is technologically savvy with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Adobe. Strong computer skills are required.
- Thrives in a collaborative atmosphere but can also work independently when needed.
- Is highly effective in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, multi-tasks, and responds positively to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Has a strong working knowledge of filing in Federal and Louisiana courts, including the Federal Court e-filing Pacer system.
- Is dependable and punctual.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
