What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Galerie, Inc.?
This position is responsible for leading the Production room output on a daily basis in partnership with Galerie Production Employees and temporary labor. Must be able to work and communicate with warehouse, quality, labels, sales and other departments on issues as needed. Leads Food Safety programs in production and ensures they are being complied with.
Specific Duties/Accountability:
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with GMP’s and other customers’ standards.
- Follows and applies all food safety programs to remain compliant to third party audits and customers expectations.
- Leading the production area staff in achieving production efficiencies/expectations and trouble shooting problem areas.
- Develop and conduct individual’s employee evaluations on a timely basis.
- Ongoing feedback and employee updates to Production Manager.
- Provide leadership and process discipline in the production area.
- Maintain attendance records for production personnel.
- Provide direct supervision to Production employees and assist in identifying and developing line leads. Identify areas of development and address through training and coaching, if applicable.
- Understand and apply GALERIE® practices and policies in a fair, professional and consistent manner.
- Assist in pulling orders in/out of production area as needed to maintain work flow.
- Back up to data entry for production numbers.
- Work together with other departments to resolve issues related to production.
- Be able to perform basic maintenance and set up of all Production equipment.
- Partner with external temporary agencies to ensure proper staffing levels and expected performance of temporary employees.
- Provide training and follow up as needed for policies and procedures.
- Any other duties, as assigned.
- Reporting to this position are Line Leads, Line Attendants and Production Assistant.
Experience/Education Requirements/Physical Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
- 3-5 years Production, Operations and QC inspection experience strongly preferred.
- 2-5 years leadership experience at supervisory level required.
- Strong attention to detail skills and ability to meet timelines is expected.
- Good organizational skills and ability to follow policies/procedures are needed for success in this position.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Strong math skills are needed for counting accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including: Excel and Word are helpful. PowerPoint knowledge helpful.
- Must have the ability to follow and communicate, in both written and oral formats, in a clear and professional manner.
- Organizational skills for record keeping.
- Strong business problem solving and reasoning skills.
- Ability to move skids with the use of a pallet jack, fork lift or other machinery as needed.
- Must be dependable and have good attendance.
- Scheduled shift begins at 7:00am – Production Supervisor will have production ready to run at 7am, arriving early and staying over will be expected if needed to help with setup or equipment changes, line layouts, etc.
