Galileo Project, LLC provides project management assistance and coordination (PMAC) to federal, state, and local agencies on environmental permitting, planning, and construction projects. These projects include renewable energy, transmission, pipelines, and planning efforts among others. We provide services primarily to government agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, National Park Service, and others. Unlike traditional environmental firms who focus on providing products, Galileo’s primary focus is assisting with the process. We are deeply service-oriented and, with our assistance, project teams have more time to focus on technical tasks, strategic thinking, problem solving, and decision making. Galileo’s multi-disciplinary activities provide a significant advantage in project development from inception through final construction.

Position Overview

This position is primarily an entry to mid-level project assistance position. Applicant will perform a wide range of administrative and project support activities for project team to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. The job includes direct support to the project management team with day-to-day tasks to keep projects on schedule. This position is a great introduction to the National Environmental Policy Act process as well as other statutes such as the National Historic Preservation Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, etc. Galileo is focused primarily on providing a service to aid in the project’s process; as such the tasks may be more administrative in nature than technical.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Attend and accurately document meetings
  • Document project decisions and action items
  • Assist in distributing project information to the public
  • Data entry into project databases
  • Assist with preliminary determinations of documents for response to FOIAs.
  • Organize, update, and maintain project records such as document files and contact lists
  • Prepare and modify project documents including correspondence, reports, memos, and emails
  • Prepare written responses to routine inquiries
  • Provide assistance with logistics of public, tribal, and agency meetings
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for managers and/or supervisors
  • Coordinate information relevant to project assignments from multiple sources
  • Serve as a back-up to the project management team as necessary in finalizing project tasks
  • Conduct and compile research on projects, policy, and stakeholder positions

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and Adobe software
  • Strong familiarity with online meeting platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.

  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to different projects and management styles

Education and Experience

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in project management, environmental resources, public policy, or related area and at a minimum of 1 year relevant environmental project experience

– OR – Minimum 3-5 years relevant environmental project experience Legal background or experience a plus Customer service experience a plus

  • Working knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other related environmental statutes

This position involves a typical office environment working with computers and at a desk for long periods of time. Compensation and Benefits:

Galileo is an expanding firm with considerable growth opportunities. This is an hourly position with compensation dependent upon work history and demonstrable skill set. Galileo offers a generous benefits package including health insurance, 401k, and paid vacation and sick leave.

  • Health insurance is available at the beginning of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • Vacation and sick leave are available after 90 days of employment.
  • 401k participation is available at the beginning of the month following 180 days of employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
