Job Description

GALT Aerospace is seeking a talented Program Manager to Lead programs related to Military Airborne Communication Mission Payload System Development, System I&T, Platform Installation, Ground and Flight Tests, Air-Worthiness Certifications, with eventual transition into production.


At GALT Aerospace, Program Managers are the Primary Customer Liaison and are responsible for leading engineering teams, members of GALT Aerospace support organizations, and suppliers to successfully accomplish projects within cost and schedule to the satisfaction of the customer.

Responsibilities also include support for teams in the field, tracking project financials, and building/nurturing client relationships with US Department of Defense and US aerospace/defense companies.


GALT Aerospace Program Managers must know the fundamentals of project and resource planning such as work breakdown structure, resourced scheduling including critical path determination, risk identification and mitigation, and are responsible to understand the basics of defense contracting and contracting with suppliers and sub-contractors.


GALT Aerospace Program Managers have significant responsibility and are held accountable for program success. Time management skills are extremely important to effectively carry out the demands of this profession. They must be team-oriented, effective communication and cooperation. Program Managers are expected to know industry norms, and safe practices to effectively carry out their duties.


Required Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or STEM degree from an accredited institution
  • 5 years in Program Management and 10 years in Engineering and Technical Leadership of successful experience with increasing responsibilities in engineering projects, with some experience in Industry, preferably as a DoD contractor.
  • A high level of skill with Microsoft Office tools including MS-Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to Lead others in demanding environments complying with and improving processes for ever more effective performance.
  • US. Citizenship required
  • Active DOD Secret, TS/SCI, or SSBI clearance

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

  • Military &/or Aircraft related System Design and I&T experience
  • A varied background with small to medium sized programs both in a rapid prototyping and a product development environment.
  • 10 Years in Program Management and Technical Leadership
  • Familiar with Military Communications Radios LOS and BLOS systems
  • SEIT related experience in Military comm systems on Airborne platforms
  • Familiar with Airborne Environmental Risks and Certification considerations
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Graduate Degree in a related STEM discipline
  • Advanced studies and Continued Education in Program Management and Technical Leadership

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit or stand for 1 hour at a time
  • Must be able to operate a computer

Pay Scale

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,000 - $140,000 and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
