PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all supply chain activities including planning, purchasing, the stockroom, and shipping. This position is responsible for ensuring material is available for manufacturing, within budget, by successfully managing and executing the Active Systems sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) process. The Supply Chain Manager is highly skilled in placing purchase orders, hands-on master planning using MRP, and supplier management so that customer commitments for on-time delivery are continually met.

The Supply Chain Manager will work with and lead cross functional teams on lean manufacturing projects and operations initiatives to continuously lower cost, improve lead times and eliminate waste. In addition to project responsibilities, this leadership position will develop plans with direct reports to create a culture of personal responsibility and continuous improvement at the site.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People:

  • Directly negotiates costs and terms with all AS suppliers
  • Follows up electronic transactions with direct supplier contacts and verifies all orders.
  • Performs quoting for all site demand (expense, direct, services, and capital) as needed.
  • Partners with Quality Assurance to maintain supplier scorecards and develop high performing suppliers and a robust supply chain.
  • Creates, implements, and executes supplier stocking programs such as vendor managed, Kanban, max/min, blanket orders, and timed releases.
  • Supervises stockroom, shipping and purchasing personnel.

Process:

  • Creates, implements, and executes the SIOP.
  • Creates and is responsible for the site manufacturing master plan.
  • Maintains all material and planning transactions within ERP/MRP system.
  • Creates and maintains a model procurement system that is in compliance with the FAR.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains a site shipping department.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains a site stockroom
  • Develop strategy to segregate and allocate inventory versions to minimize stock risk associated with the change Management process
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance:

  • Ensures all customer orders are shipped on-time to contract commitment dates.
  • Uses ERP/MRP to enter and process material requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
  • Performs analysis and provides reports with respect to material, planning schedules, and shipping as required by leadership and customers.
  • Develops buying strategy to ensure optimal cashflow and minimal stock shortages and robust supply chain
  • Establishes and maintains KPIs for SIOP functions including, but not limited to, forecasting, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and sourcing savings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain management, business degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficient use of ERP/MRP systems is required.
  • Experience using a SIOP process.
  • Must have effective project management skills.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • 6 years of experience in supply chain management.
  • 6 years of experience purchasing experience in a manufacturing business.
  • Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook specifically).
  • Willingness to be hands-on placing purchase orders, performing planning activities, contacting suppliers, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Responsiveness to external and internal customers and a can-do, positive attitude are a must.

  • Some travel may be required between Galvion facilities.
