SUMMARY
The Maintenance Associate III provides Mid-level support to the Maintenance Department by applying predictive and preventive maintenance procedures for all facility equipment.
The Maintenance Associate III will work with minimal supervision and will interact with a supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback.
Many non-routine activities will require a supervisor’s advance approval.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Verifiable mechanical and electrical skills to perform independent maintenance on conveyor equipment, plumbing fixtures and lighting.
- Operate basic power hand tools, pallet jacks and sweepers.
- Identify conditions that affect employee safety.
- Consistently maintains high level of activity through the entire shift with the occasional need of overtime.
- Participate in safety walks of the fulfillment center and Store Support Center office facility while providing feedback for action needed.
- Interact with supervisors and management thought the Fulfillment Center and corporate areas, identifying facilities issues and developing and ongoing strategy for remedial action for preventive maintenance.
- Provide predictive / preventive maintenance on Fulfillment Center equipment conveyors, air compressors, scales, electrical controls, etc.
- Document maintenance technical and other data on predictive / preventive maintenance charts, as required.
- Conduct welding repair duties throughout the facilities as required.
- Diagnose and repair all equipment in the Fulfillment, Refurbishment, and Store Support Center including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compressors and HVAC repairs.
- Identify facilities issues and develop an ongoing strategy to chart trends and take appropriate remedial action from a predictive maintenance approach.
- Work as directed in all areas of the Fulfillment, Refurbishment, and Store Support Centers to maintain safety and health standards for the facility.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age and present state-required proof of age documents.
- Trade school certificate from an accredited institution in at least one of the following : electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compression, PLC Systems or HVAC trades.
Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Must be able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, either in conjunction with his or her regular responsibilities or those assigned in other areas of the Refurb Center or Fulfillment Center as directed.
- Must be able to provide documentation of predictive maintenance task reports with electronic maintenance systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of business computer systems and applications specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Basic HVAC and welding experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English (Bilingual in Spanish preferred)
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach over head with arms and hands and climb ladders; must be able to climb stairs up to three flights and not be afraid of heights.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization.
- Possess a strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley & Siemens PLC system is a plus.
- Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives.
- Mechanical and electrical skills required for significant maintenance on conveyor equipment, plumbing fixtures and lighting.
