About the Role
The Equity Analyst position will be located in San Francisco (or can be remote). It is part of the Global Equity Administration (“GEA”) team within the Gap Inc. Legal department. The GEA team has primary responsibility for the administration of Gap Inc.’s equity-based compensation programs around the world.
GEA is a small but critically important team within Gap Inc. With our collaborative approach to work streams, the Stock Analyst will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience on many aspects of equity administration for one of the largest specialty apparel retailers in the world.
This role is based out of the San Francisco office and requires you to be in the office on an occasional basis for critical in-person meetings and/or job duties that cannot be performed remotely. Pursuant to Gap Inc.’s policy, as of September 7, 2021, all employees who wish to enter Gap Inc.’s San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Albuquerque office buildings will need to be vaccinated, unless an exemption from the vaccine requirement is approved due to an accommodation for a disability or for a sincerely held religious belief.
What You'll Do
- Accurately and timely assist with the day-to-day administration of the company’s stock plans globally, including processing daily employee stock option exercises and equity award releases and related Payroll reporting.
- Review and process any daily termination activity.
- Support the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) process, including assistance with quarterly purchases, termination and refund processing, rehires and eligibility updates, payroll disposition reporting and employee communications
- Assist in maintenance and update of documentation for plan administration/department procedures
- Provide excellent customer service to employee inquiries on a wide variety of issues related to equity awards, including trading restrictions, insider status, and exercise and sale procedures.
- Support insider trading compliance program, including insider trading window communications and insider list maintenance.
- Monitor automated interface between Human Resources and Payroll tax data and Equity Edge Online database, troubleshoot and resolve minor issues.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end equity schedules for Accounting and Finance.
- Assist in preparing ad-hoc reports for internal business partners and external financial advisors.
- Assist with employee 10b5-1 plan maintenance and calendaring
- Assist with quarterly dividend payment coordination between Transfer Agent and internal departments.

- Proficiency with equity administration software (e.g., Equity Edge Online) strongly preferred.
- Previous experience with Workday as Payroll/HR Platform is a plus
- Minimum Level I CEP preferred.
