About the Role
This role supports parcel execution through short, medium, and long range planning of the network across all Gap Inc. operations in the U.S. and Canadian markets. The parcel operations organization is accountable for on time performance and cost KPI’s aligned with current business objectives. Parcel operations will coordinate with distribution centers, stores, and vendors to ensure appropriate carrier selection and routing. This will require process compliance and strong attention to details, as business rules evolve - especially during holiday peak. Additionally, this individual will leverage KPIs on carrier execution and performance to adjust carrier allocation as changes become necessary. Individuals that thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments with competing objectives that sometimes create ambiguity will be successful in this role. Position is based in Erlanger, KY.
What You'll Do
- Responsibile for day to day parcel operations through regular capacity planning across multiple Gap Inc origin locations, aligned with various carriers and service levels
- Ownership of network performance against the forecast supplied by parcel planning to support network objectives: equipment and utilization, routing compliance, and carrier execution
- Creates equipment and execution plan by node tied to rolling forecast and appropriate carrier mix
- Creation and oversight of parcel shipping policies through expertise of shipping processes, sourcing points, and distribution network
- Partners with internal stakeholders such as tech and sourcing to support go-live execution of new parcel providers
- Monitor industry trends and best practices while educating key business partners on parcel transportation network, policies, and carrier base
- Proactively managing the network and anticipating performance challenges with quick resolution
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3 - 5 years transportation experience with a strong working knowledge and exposure to Parcel; preference placed upon additional retail and/or parcel shipping expertise
- Familiarity of parcel services, carrier operations, and working knowledge of how systems support daily execution
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to respond to critical needs of the business off-hours and on holidays - specifically during retail peak season (November & December)
- Proficient in MS Office & excellent communication skills
