Responsibilities
The Tumor Registrar will establish and maintain the efficient operation of the cancer registry, to register and follow patients with a diagnosis of malignancy, to retrieve and analyze registry data and to disseminate these data in accordance with professional ethics, to coordinate Cancer Conferences under the direction of the Director of Oncology Services.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Associate Degree is or some college course work, with courses in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology or equivalent education in a health or science field.
Minimum Experience: Three years of experience in related setting, with experience demonstrated in medical record keeping and relevant registry hardware/software. Must have ability to deal with physicians and associates on a professional basis.
Required Certification/Registration: NCRA CTR certification required.
Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary with intermittent standing and walking, computer data entry and retrieval. Lifting of charts, and some maneuvering of audiovisual or display materials.
Working Conditions: Works inside office facilities with occasional travel.
