About the role:
Gartner is seeking a Proposal Content Manager to join our growing global Proposal Center of Excellence (PCOE) team. PCOE is a strategic revenue accelerator dedicated to managing and producing winning responses to formal and informal solicitations (RFP, RFI, etc.).
As Content Manager, you will manage and maintain proposal content, tools and templates for use by PCOE and other business partners in client-facing proposals and marketing materials. You will play a critical role in establishing and driving the comprehensive content management strategy for PCOE. This position requires a combination of proposal/marketing writing experience, project management, understanding of Gartner products, and working knowledge of content management systems and processes.
What you'll do:
- Maintain, populate, enhance and expand electronic proposal content repository(ies) with the goal to improve proposal quality and consistency, increase PCOE team efficiency and productivity, and remove redundancy in repository.
- Shape the development of new content management systems, policies and procedures. Leverage existing content management systems and process, while actively identifying/recommending new solutions, methods and/or process improvements.
- Organize and index content repository to ensure content can be used efficiently by PCOE, Sales other internal partners.
- Ensure content in repository is written, formatted and proofed to adhere to approved branding and style guidelines and to integrate easily into PCOE Word-based proposal templates. Ensure all content is clean and proposal-ready.
- Write compelling, descriptive and accurate proposal content (e.g., product and feature descriptions, company information, expert biographies).
- Collaborate with internal partners (e.g., product experts) on new content development and maintenance of existing content.
- Establish content review and refresh schedule. Collaborate with PCOE team members, product experts and other internal partners to regularly review and update the content repository to ensure that all content reflects the most accurate and current information.
- Support Word-based proposal template updates and maintenance.
- Support global corporate proposal initiatives, which may involve creating or updating additional content libraries, graphics, tools and templates
- Stay current on Gartner product/feature releases and updates.
What you'll need:
- 2-4 years of experience in content development and/or management, preferably within a proposal organization.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Information Science or equivalent required.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and formatting skills.
- Very strong grasp of the English language with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of, and passion for, content management best practice, information architecture and database administration.
- Expertise in Microsoft products (Word, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
- Advanced analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify workflow process improvements and efficiencies.
- Strong project management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-range goals; lead multiple projects simultaneously; and adapt creatively and successfully to change.
- High degree of personal accountability and demonstrated drive, initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new subject matter quickly and high intellectual curiosity.
- Demonstrated soft skills, including the ability to effectively interact, communicate and work with internal partners at all levels of the organization globally.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Strong knowledge of Gartner products, clients and internal business processes.
- Previous experience with custom Word templates, including macros, or equivalent template format.
- Previous experience with proposal/content management software and/or database repository.
- Knowledge of, and interest in, document design and graphics.
