Wellness Avenue Surgery Center is a premier surgery center with a new location in Orange City, FL, offering a highly skilled and dedicated team aimed at providing excellence in a caring atmosphere. Our doctors, nurses, and courteous staff take care of patients in a state of the art, newly constructed, beautiful outpatient surgery center.
The SPD Endo Tech will provide patientcare in an outpatient orthopedic surgery center. The SPD Materials Manager is responsible for decontamination, prepping, packing and sterilization of all instrumentation. This individual will conduct inventories of all materials and will ensure adequate stock of materials in the ASC. The SPD Endo Tech actively supports and promotes the centers values and will be under the direction of the Administrator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares the case cart and gather all necessary instrument, supplies and equipment for specific procedures
- Assists with the setup of equipment and supplies to be processed
- Assembles and replaces instruments and equipment to their designated tray and container
- Maintains inventory and ordering
- Receives deliveries and allocate and prepare materials in the proper location as necessary
- Cleans and decontaminates surgical instruments, endoscopes and/or equipment as necessary
- Performs daily monitoring and maintenance of sterilization equipment
- Sterilizes instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Completes the appropriate documentation and records prior of the sterilization process
- Performs quality control for the sterilizers to verify that all requirements for sterilization have been met
- Observes all rules and regulations governing processing standards of practice regarding all methods of sterilization and processing.
COMPETENCIES:
- Previous experience as an SPD for an ASC
- Knowledge of sterilizer and various machinery to clean and sterilize instruments, equipment and supplies
- Works independently with minimal supervision
- Customer Service Oriented
- Basic computer proficiency
- Effective communicator
- Knowledge and skills of processing instrument and scopes
- Surgical Tech experience
