Job Summary
The QHSE Administrator is a key staff member of the quality, health, safety, security, and environmental team responsible for administering and maintaining data within the Safety Management System (SMS) for GATE and its affiliate companies and assisting in the compliance of GATE’s quality, health, safety, security, and environmental programs. The QHSE Administrator is also responsible for supporting the GATE Integrated Management System (IMS) and assisting with compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Pursuing areas for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol (D&A) program
- Coordinate the pre-employment and random D&A program in partnership with third party vendor based on organizational compliance
- Ensure all safety records are maintained in the system
- Liaise with QHSE Manager to maintain the QHSE audit program for the company
- Assist and support with preparation for the ISO certification audit program
- Assist and or coordinate QHSE training to all new hires
- Maintain ISNetworld, Veriforce, Avetta, and/or equivalent third-party entities, including training records and compliance submittals for online databases as required
- Conduct QHSE New Hire Onboarding for all employees; proficient delivery both in person and/or remote (via Teams or equivalent)
- Remain up to date regarding federal, BSEE, US Coast Guard, NFPA, OSHA and other safety regulations and standards
- Analyze safety metrics to support organizational and business decisions
- Respond promptly to unforeseen/unusual problems and emergency situations in the office
- Responsible for adhering to GATE Energy policies and procedures in a positive manner
- Proactively work to create and influence a positive and professional safety culture within GATE
- Other duties as assigned
Experience & Education
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in QHSE in office settings
- Associates degree or higher in Safety or related field or experience in lieu of
- Experience reviewing safety and/or operational procedures and policies with a strong technical writing acumen
- Experience with online Safety Management Systems
- Knowledge of ISNetworld, DISA, Veriforce, Avetta, and others a plus
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, USCG, BSEE, NFPA, NEC, IMO/MARPOL, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and other applicable safety regulations and standards
- Ability to schedule and deliver training
- Exceptional organizational skills and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and document control
- Ability to multi-task, work autonomously and meet tight deadlines
- Must work well with others in team environment
- Complete minimum 8 hours DER (Designated Employer Rep) training with DISA
