The Team We are looking for a Senior Program Officer to join the North America Team (NAT) to lead our Canadian government, and UN Secretariat relations work. Our North America Team consists of professionals with diverse expertise in (education and development policy, finance, advocacy and government relations). We develop and execute policy, advocacy, communications, and government relations strategies to build political support and advance domestic and global programmatic priorities that are funded by, or executed within, the United States, Canada, and the United Nations. Your Role You will work in close collaboration with the NAT Management Team. You will selectively lead on strategy development for emerging areas of advocacy that will improve outcomes for students in America and reduce poverty and the burden of disease globally., while collaborating with the NAT Management Team and key stakeholders to facilitate NAT planning including goal setting, country planning, budgeting and resource allocation and performance management. What You’ll Do This is an exciting and unique opportunity to contribute to setting the National agenda for the foundation. The Program Manager’s core functions and responsibilities include the following: Portfolio Management: Partners with the NAT’s Management Team and Program CFO’s office to support informed strategic investment decisions related to grants and contracts. Driving and monitoring progress against milestones and key decisions, leads key stakeholder meetings and prepares analysis and data to support key decisions. Project Management: Utilize complex project management skills to lead multiple projects with simultaneous demands. Manage large and/or complex projects in support of strategy development, resource allocation (both financial and human), investment management, and business performance management. Establishing and executing work plans, monitoring progress against milestones and key decisions and managing partner communications. Who receives this information? And are these regular reports as in Monthly, quarterly functions? Leadership Support: Preparing NAT Management for strategy reviews, learning sessions, briefings with the Co-chairs and foundation leadership. Ensuring successful employee onboarding relative to strategy and planning processes, communicates performance expectations, creates goal alignment, integrates project and change management, provides mentorship and measures progress. Partner Engagement: Responsible for high quality interactions and clear and consistent communication with grantees and other external partners. Contract Management: Handling contracts that support strategy and program development and implementation. Providing guidance to NAT staff on appropriate use and development of contracts in support of NAT’s programmatic work. Your Experience MBA or equivalent advanced degree in public health, business administration, public affairs or other relevant Master’s degree. Extensive work experience with progressive responsibility in project management within management consulting firm or similar strategic positions in health/development-related field 8 Year’s of experience Prior experience in US Education or International Development preferred. Strong written and verbal communications Skills *This is a 6-month, LTE position. *Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.
