COUNSELOR - VETERANS TREATMENT COURT
OBJECTIVES
Provide outpatient treatment services to patients involved with Adult Drug Court and Veteran’s Treatment Court. Act as liaison between Gateway Community Services and the Problem Solving Courts in Circuit IV. Act as a resource to the problem solving court staff, providing information, education, and assistance where needed. Network with local agencies in support of work performed in conjunction with problem solving court staff. Function as a representative of Gateway Community Services to outside agencies, referral resources, and to other community leaders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ability to provide outpatient level group and individual interventions targeted to patients involved with Adult Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court.
2. Ability to provide substance use disorder interventions and treatment services for co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
3. Ability to provide therapeutic training or psycho education utilizing the following modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and others as identified.
4. Ability to participate in multidisciplinary teams to include participation in problem solving court meetings and court proceedings as needed.
5. Willingness and ability to be trained and utilize various evidence based curriculums to include (but not limited to): Living in Balance, Seeking Safety, DBT Skills training
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
1. Must pass required background investigation.
2. Must complete all required training.
3. Must abide by Agency's Code of Ethics, Agency Standards, Policy and Procedures Manuals.
4. Provide Peer Review of assigned paperwork.
5. Assist in training new staff.
6. Complete documentation on a daily basis, legibly, and with no more than a 3% error rating.
7. Strict adherence to the Occurrence (Unusual Event) Reporting, timekeeping, and work attendance requirements.
8. Must practice universal precautions as part of regular job duties whenever applicable.
9. Ability to function as an effective team member.
10. Must be able to perform assigned work independently with minimal supervision.
11. Must not engage in behaviors that erode the cohesiveness of the program staff.
12. Must be approved as an insurable, safe driver by Gateway insurance company.
13. Must provide coverage on at least 2 holidays per year (one major and one minor).
QUALIFICATIONS FORMAL EDUCATION
· Master level clinician
· Licensed or Licensed Clinical Intern preferred
· CAP a plus.

· Ability to perform Intervention services
· Ability to perform Substance Abuse and Mental Health treatment
· Ability to work in fast-paced environment
· Ability to relate and present to individuals and groups
· Ability to relate to adolescents, adults, families, referral sources and other professional contacts
· Understands essentials of good time management.
· Ability to demonstrate sound problem solving behaviors
· Safe driving record as verified by the Agency’s insurance company
· Ability to successfully complete agency driving test
EXPERIENCE
· Has practical knowledge of Team Leadership concepts.
· Understands Problem Solving Courts
· Understands addiction clinical systems
· Understands and can perform clinical assessments
KNOWLEDGE
· Team Leadership Fundamentals
· 12-step recovery process
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
· Valid State of Florida driver’s license with safe driving record
· Appropriate qualifications to provide Outreach, Intervention, and Case Management
