Job Posting for Workforce Project Manager and Technical Trainer at Gateway Community & Technical College

Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for a Workforce Project Manager and Technical Trainer. This full-time position will sell and manage projects for Workforce Solutions (WS), design and deliver training in technical skill areas, and serve as a subject matter expert for the WS team in technical skill areas.

Duties:
  • Meet with employers to determine their employees' training needs, analyze skill gaps, design training, and prepare contracts to meet their needs.
  • Plan, manage and track training projects which includes the responsibility to secure and manage qualified and available instructors, collect data, and give feedback to the company on regular basis.
  • Pursue funding for training programs including writing, securing, and managing KCTCS-TRAINS funding
  • Design and deliver training in technical skill areas.
  • Attend community meetings representing Workforce Solutions and promoting Gateway training.
  • Build partnerships internally and externally with the college, which provide further promotion of Workforce Solutions training. Includes serving on various GCTC committees and teams actively supporting internal initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education, Certifications, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in Industrial Technology, Technical Education, or related field.

Experience:

  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.

  • Presentation skills and training adult learners,
  • Organization and planning,
  • Project management.

  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
